New European project for the CEC led by our member AGFE, in partnership with our member UNESSA, as well as POSTAL3 in Spain and ALLIE974 in Réunion Island.
This project will run for 30 months and started in November 2025.
In a European context marked by the rapid transformation of jobs and labor shortages in several key sectors, many people remain distant from the labor market. Among them, underrepresented groups — such as unqualified youth, migrants, and long-term unemployed individuals — face persistent barriers to professional integration.
In response to this situation, our project proposes an innovative and inclusive approach: to enhance the employability of these populations through micro-training programs focused on professional tasks, directly aligned with the concrete needs of businesses.
A concrete response to on-the-ground needs
The project has two main objectives:
- Improve key skills of people in vulnerable situations by giving them access to short, practical, and certifiable training programs;
- Facilitate recruitment for businesses, by promoting an approach based on “professional gestures” — meaning what individuals can actually do, beyond just their formal qualifications.
A collaborative ecosystem: businesses, public and social actors
The project is based on close collaboration between companies, training organizations, support structures, and social partners. Together, they will co-develop:
- A professional skills guide, tailored to high-demand sectors;
- Two sector-specific catalogs (WP2), identifying essential job-related gestures;
- Certified micro-trainings (WP3), tested in real-world situations with partner companies;
- An interactive web platform (WP4), featuring educational videos demonstrating professional gestures.
Skills certification will be formalized through a tripartite agreement (the “gentleman agreement”) bringing together the company, the training organization, and the learner — ensuring mutual recognition of the skills acquired.
A European dynamic, with transferable tools
The project will be disseminated across Europe to share the tools and best practices developed, maximizing their impact. Train-the-trainer workshops will be organized to help social structures and employment professionals adopt the tools.
By the end of the project, we aim to achieve:
- Enhanced practical skills for hundreds of beneficiaries;
- Support for sustainable career paths;
- Reduced inequalities in access to employment in high-demand sectors;
- The creation of a European framework for micro-certification, to recognize and promote skills acquired in a modular and flexible way.
