Within the framework of the Europe 2020 growth strategy, the European Union set ambitious targets to be achieved by 2020 in the areas of employment, innovation, education, and social inclusion.

In response to these objectives, ‘Etudes Et Chantiers Corsica’ launched on 5 November 2014 in Bratislava its ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnership project ‘Construction Site Pedagogy,’ aimed at recreating professional opportunities for young people through methodological approaches to construction site pedagogy training.

The project will train trainers in this pedagogy, which is intended to help young adults who have been long excluded from the labor market not only regain employment but also reintegrate socially. Construction sites represent a genuine alternative to school dropout for young adults. This is an educational approach that combines a ‘training’ dimension with a ‘production’ dimension.

The main challenge of this project is notably to develop tools such as a training module ‘Training Professionals in Construction Site Pedagogy,’ and to promote and expand this pedagogy among organizations and institutions that can implement it and offer it within programs for the labor market integration of vulnerable young adults.
