Momentum joins the CEC in 2026

Momentum 1

We are happy to welcome Momentum as a new member of the CEC as of 1 January 2026.

Momentum is an Irish organisation that has been working for over 20 years in the fields of social inclusion and community development. Based in rural north-west Ireland, the organisation works alongside disadvantaged groups, developing programmes in inclusive education, citizen participation, social innovation, and accessible communication in collaboration with migrants, women, young people distant from the labour market, and rural communities.

Momentum promotes social inclusion, democratic resilience, and community-led innovation by creating accessible pathways to entrepreneurship, active citizenship, and skills development. Through low-barrier entrepreneurship in sectors such as food, creative industries, fashion, tourism, and equine activities, it supports women, migrants, rural youth, and people with fewer opportunities. Its work is grounded in living labs and local ecosystems that bring together citizens, municipalities, educators, and entrepreneurs to co-create place-based solutions, while advancing digital inclusion through tailored and accessible learning approaches.

Democratic engagement is a core focus of its work. As a partner in the Horizon Europe ARENAS project, Momentum addresses extremist and disinformation narratives through research, education, and policy recommendations that empower citizens to rebuild democratic trust. The organisation also actively engages young people, particularly in rural areas.

Very active in Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, CERV, AMIF, and ESF+, Momentum brings solid expertise in dissemination, stakeholder engagement, and European project development.
