Barka is implementing the Greater Poland Centre for Social Economy project, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus through the European Funds for Greater Poland Regional Program. Launched in 2021, the initiative aims to strengthen the local social economy sector by providing comprehensive support to existing social economy organizations and encouraging the establishment of new entities by individuals and legal entities.
The project focuses on fostering social economy development in Poznań by mobilizing local communities, supporting the creation of new social enterprises, and assisting existing organizations to expand their activities. A key aspect of the project is reintegrating vulnerable individuals into social and professional life, addressing social exclusion, and improving employability.
To achieve these objectives, the Center offers a variety of resources, including business consulting, legal and financial advice, training programs, and reintegration support. In addition, Barka has published a book titled Social Economy in Portraits, which features the stories of 14 individuals who have participated in social entrepreneurship initiatives supported by the organization. The book serves as an inspiring testament to the transformative potential of social economy projects. By the time the project concludes in 2028, Barka anticipates significant achievements, including increased employment and social participation, the growth of local partnerships, and a rise in the number of social enterprises and job opportunities in the region. Ultimately, these efforts aim to empower communities and improve the quality of life for individuals facing challenging circumstances.
