Coordinated by our member IFRTS – Sud Concept and supported by an international consortium, the EU-funded SKILLBRIDGE project has entered a new phase with the launch of national pilot activities to test its methodology in real-life settings.
Since its launch in November 2024, SKILLBRIDGE has worked to develop a common European approach to recognising migrants’ transversal and non-cognitive skills. The project has produced two key reports that lay the groundwork for this objective.
The European Synthesis Report on Skills Assessment and Validation Approaches is structured around 12 key soft skill domains and provides guidance for identifying, recognising and validating migrants’ competences, with the aim of supporting their integration into education, training and employment.
Complementing this work, the European Comparative Report on Soft Skills Assessment and Validation analyses existing practices across participating countries and identifies common approaches that can contribute to a future European framework for assessing and validating migrants’ transversal skills.
Alongside these reports, the project is also developing a digital platform integrated into the CVCert ecosystem and a 48-hour training programme for professionals working in employment, education and guidance. These tools will now be tested during pilot activities involving both migrants and practitioners across the partner countries.
The pilot phase represents the final step before the project’s conclusion and will provide valuable feedback on the effectiveness of the SKILLBRIDGE methodology in practice. The results are expected to contribute to future European recommendations on skills recognition and support wider adoption of inclusive approaches to labour market integration.
