Duration – 24 months starting in December 1st 2025

Our members, Sud Concept – Petra Patrimonia and Fundació Trinijove, have launched Wind at the Back, a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme. The initiative is dedicated to youth inclusion, with a particular focus on young people in vulnerable situations.

The project aims to strengthen inclusion in training and youth work, especially for young people facing social and economic exclusion (NEETs, refugees, and rural youth). It does so by creating career opportunities in the sustainable Blue Economy and by preparing and upskilling youth work professionals to better support young people.

More specifically, Wind at the Back seeks to support marginalized youth in accessing sustainable blue careers, upskill youth workers, and foster collaboration between the Blue Economy and youth work sectors.

Activities include :

  • An online training course on supporting sustainable Blue Economy careers.
  • A careers depository featuring videos from professionals working in sustainable Blue Economy sectors.
  • A Community of Practice enabling interaction between Blue Economy companies, youth workers, and young people seeking employment opportunities.
  • A workshops report including procedures, programmes, and practical guidance on how to implement Blue careers workshops.

Outcome

The project is expected to equip youth workers and trainers with the tools, knowledge, and methods needed to guide young people toward blue careers. The initiative also seeks to make the Blue Economy more inclusive and accessible, strengthen cooperation between youth, employers, training providers, and local communities, and expand networks, capacity building, and innovation across diverse Blue Economy sectors.
