Although significant progress has been made in recent years, too many young people still leave school with low or no qualifications and face a higher risk of unemployment, poverty, and social exclusion.
While there is an urgent need to coordinate actions between educational and non-educational stakeholders and to develop inclusive responses, several studies show that transversal skills have become essential, having a strong impact on life outcomes, academic and social success, as well as on reducing early school leaving.
The consortium, composed of six organisations from five Member States (France, Belgium, Greece, Italy, and Germany), aims to promote training pathways by structuring the methods and tools of Project-Based Learning within a framework focused on the assessment and certification of competences.
Objectives
- To create a competence assessment framework for skills mobilised through Project-Based Learning experiences, in particular transversal skills, which are recognised as core competences for employability, citizenship, and individual well-being;
- To define the learning outcomes of training pathways in different sectors linked to the cultural heritage of local territories, using the common European ECVET framework;
- To support young people’s educational achievements with the contribution of representatives from the business sector, in order to break the cycle of inequality, poverty, and exclusion;
- To encourage and promote collaborative approaches and educational alliances aimed at reducing early school leaving at local level.
Project deliverables
- Core framework of common transversal skills developed through Project-Based Learning;
- Training pathways using the Project-Based Learning approach;
- Guide to the organisation and facilitation of experimental worksites.
